At Faringdon Pre-school we believe in providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children. We believe that all children are capable learners, and we promote positive relationships and independence in order to make children thrive and reach their full potential. We understand that it can be a very daunting time for both the children and their parents when they start pre-school for the first time. At Faringdon pre-school we believe in working in partnership with parents and providing an inclusive environment to make transitions as easy as possible.

Our Ethos

Children should all be respected and show respect for others and their environment. All children are unique and we aim to build their resilience, capability, confidence and self-esteem. We believe that all children learn in different ways and at different rates and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and interconnected.

Our Pedagogy

Children are powerful learners. Every child has the right to learn and make progress in their learning, with the right help. Effective pedagogy can be achieved using varied approaches by learning through their play. Our staff organise enabling environments for high quality play through guided learning, direct teaching and positive modelling, allowing space to sensitively support and extend children’s learning, these environments are provided indoors and outside.

Our Childcare

We ensure the welfare of each and every child by providing a secure and safe environment where children are encouraged to be healthy and active learners. We place a strong emphasis on the health and safety of all children and staff and regularly audit our systems and processes. You will experience peace of mind from placing your child with a company that accepts its responsibilities seriously and dutifully ensures that all employees are aware of their roles and accountability.

Promoting learning & discovery through play for 2-5 year olds.

As we know from our own experiences, children learn best through play. We want to ensure that your child experiences the very best in child care and is supported to develop and learn throughout their earliest years. We want the children in our care to be sociable and to have high self-esteem, to enjoy books and stories, to learn about numbers and how to solve problems.

Staff

We provide a staffing ratio in line with the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that children have sufficient individual attention and to guarantee care and education of a high quality. Our staff are appropriately qualified and we carry out checks for enhanced criminal records and barred list checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service in accordance with statutory requirements. Health & Safety

We believe that the health and safety of children is of paramount importance. We make our setting a safe and healthy place for children, parents, staff and volunteers.
